So in my free time I write fiction. Be nice to have it published someday.
These days I'm writing a romance between Perzephni, an innocent-minded and neglected human girl and Aspheros, a powerful necromancer of the Magic People.
Anyways, Aspheros has the above design tattooed across his chest. It's the symbol of his family, the Darcart.
Story time: Aspheros folded his garment and approached Perzephni. Kneeling politely, he presented it to her.
I would appreciate it greatly if you would safeguard this for me, he asked. Perzephni took the mantle carefully. And if I should die here, he added, it is yours to keep.
Perzephni clutched the heavy fabric involuntarily.
Aspheros stood and Perzephni finally saw what was tattooed on his chest. The image of a skull adorned with feathers, spirals and circles grinned at her. She gripped Aspheross mantle tighter as he bowed to her and descended the few steps to the field.
Centor and Hezzen each accepted a sharpened rapier from their servants.
Which of us will you face first? Centor asked.
Aspheros politely refused the rapier a valet offered him and instead took a simple quarterstaff. So that it will be fair, I will face you both at once without my magic, familiars or a blade.
Hezzen did not have to be told twice. Having no other choice, Centor followed his lead. The two of them advanced with their swords up and at the ready.
Aspheros remained in his neutral stance, both hands on the staff. The only movement he made was following his opponents with his eyes.
Hezzen made the first move, dashing forward as fast as he could and jabbing with his rapier at Aspheross exposed ribs. Suddenly, there was a tip of quarterstaff between his feet spoiling his aim and balance. Aspheros pivoted the staff sharply and sent Hezzen spinning harmlessly away. In the same fluid motion he caught Hezzens rapier as it flew from his hand and brought it around.
Perzephni watched in astonishment. Aspheros moved like a cat, graceful and deadly. In one strike he had disarmed and disabled Hezzen, who lay on his back dazed and confused with the point of his own sword against his chest. Aspheros held the rapier straight and true, the blow would be swift and fatal if it fell.
Surrender or-
I surrender! Hezzen answered before Aspheros could finish.
When is enough enough... What difference does it make when popular artist vent vent vent and support a site that tolerates deviant behaviour. HA! no wonder its all in a name.
Your Darkest Dreams is a monthly feature devoted to sharing dark photography works from DeviantArt. Often misunderstood as "morbid" or "depressing", Your Darkest Dreams seeks to show this kind of photography in a new way: by showcasing art that is thought provoking, but at the same time unabashedly displays the beauty in darkness.
